Underground Miner Training

We are accepting applications now from Innu and Nunatsiavut clients for Underground Mine training with intakes starting every few months. Criminal Record checks are mandatory. Please contact Tammy Barry, Ocean Lane, or Ryan Rich if you are interested or download and print the applications below, complete what you can and send to the nearest LATP office.

Underground Safety Training for TRADES

If you are a trades apprentice who will be working in Voisey's Bay, you will require a Service Common Core training certificate in order to work safely underground in your trade. This 2 day training is provided by Norcat in Sudbury. Please contact your LATP career counsellor to inquire about this training.

Safety Certification

We are continuing to offering safety training. If you are interested, please contact one of our career counsellors or download, print and complete the Training Application indicating Safety Training and return to the nearest LATP office.

If you are selected for support, the funding through LATP will assist Aboriginal individuals in covering the costs of:

Tuition
Materials required for learning
Tutoring
Living allowance
Travel allowances associated with training away from home
Child care
