Apprenticeship training begins after you finish your program at Holland College and are working full-time with a suitable employer. Each trade has a certain number of hours that an apprentice must complete before he or she can take block training and move to up to the next level. Once you have completed the required number of blocks and worked the required number of hours for your trade, you can earn your Interprovincial Red Seal by completing an exam. An Interprovincial Red Seal gives you the ability to work anywhere in Canada.

Scholarships-in-course are open to returning students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their course of studies. Candidates should submit the following to the Awards Officer: a completed scholarship application form, a letter of academic reference, and a brief overview of educational background, academic awards and accomplishments.
The Entrance Scholarship Programme is highly competitive and is designed to attract outstanding scholars to the St. Thomas University campus. Except when otherwise specified, the entrance awards are open to candidates for full-time admission to the first year of the Bachelor of Arts Programme who are applying on the basis of their high school records. However, despite scientific, scholarly, political, and popular initiatives of all kinds —from world summits to music festivals — the pace and scope of destruction has not slackened. There can be little question that ecological changes leading to extinctions of species and loss of habitat pose a threat to our health, our prosperity, and even our existence.
We foster scholarship and research because we recognize their role in the advancement of knowledge and in sustaining the quality of teaching and the intellectual life of the University (St. Thomas University Mission Statement, 2005-2010 Strategic Plan).
This committee makes recommendations to the Senate regarding the policies and regulations governing research. It allocates research funds for faculty after evaluating the merits of the research proposals received. In addition, it reviews requests for research grants in lieu of salary and makes recommendations to the President (via the Office of Human Resources).
One Major Research Grant (MRG) is awarded to a full-time or part-time faculty member by the Senate Research Committee through open competition to further the research objectives set out by the Senate. The deadline to apply is noon March 15, 2012.
