If you like crafting things and making sure they work, our Machinist program is for you. Machinists set up and operate a variety of machine and hand tools to measure, cut, drill, form, shape, grind and finish metal, plastic or similar materials to make or repair parts or products with precise dimensions used in the manufacture and repair of mechanical devices, machines and equipment. This program trains you in the range of machinery and tooling available, and the methodology employed in their use. It prepares you to enter the workforce with enough versatility to perform a variety of challenging work. You will produce parts based on engineered drawings or diagnose mechanical malfunctions in production or industrial machinery. You then will produce the necessary parts or components to return these machines to production, or redesign them to improve the performance of the machine.
