"The principal aim of this study was to estimate the importance of the ocean sector to the economy of Prince Edward Island, and to evaluate the methods and estimation procedures which were used to measure their impact."

"The department conducts monitoring for oyster larvae starting in early July. The program reports on the concentration and size of larvae present in the primary oyster seed collection areas in Prince Edward Island. The intent of this program is to aid those collecting oyster seed to manage their operations as efficiently as possible. "

"The Prince Edward Island Mussel Monitoring Program (MMP) is a service provided to cultured mussel growers and processors by the Department of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Rural Development. "

"The Aquaculture Division delivers programs to assist in the development of the aquaculture industry"

"The purpose of the Aquaculture Technology Program is to provide an incentive for private aquaculture operations to develop or adopt new techniques or technologies in order to expand production, reduce production costs or otherwise increase earnings through more efficient production, to assess new approved species or to improve the environmental acceptability of aquaculture."
