Surveying is the science of measuring the physical world around us to determine the shape and position of objects or features. Surveying skills are applied to a wide variety of activities, from exploration for natural resources such as oil and natural gas to determining the boundary between two parcels of land to controlling the layout of buildings and highways. To accomplish this, surveyors employ a number of technological approaches for measuring the physical world.
In this program you develop skills to install and connect piping systems including processes that convey gas, or the tubing for any pneumatic or air-handling system. You’re introduced to design drawings and installation programs for a variety of systems. In a workshop setting that reflects industry practice and safety standards, you learn to use hand tools, power tools and shop equipment; select materials; cut, join and fabricate piping and fittings; perform electric tack welding and oxy-fuel cutting; and rigging practices.
If you've ever watched the credits roll at the end of a movie, you know it takes a lot of people to make a production happen. In this intensive program you cover the entire film production cycle from initial concept through to distribution within a challenging, hands-on learning environment. You learn script development, set design and construction, film and video production, editing, set etiquette, and more. Your challenge is to design, produce, manage, and complete productions in a creative and collaborative crew environment.
