Advocates are committed to working with Aboriginal people(s) and communities to promote social justice, self determination and self governance. Your work as an advocate requires a solid foundation in the legal, political and social history of Aboriginal peoples in Canada in order to deliver services and design programs which meet the needs of the communities and individuals. At the heart of your career direction are community development, public education, restorative justice, political, legal or social advocacy, that require you to understand Aboriginal-Canadian relations and work effectively to advocate at the local, regional or national level.
