The program was developed to meet the National Guidelines for Early Childhood Education in Canada. It provides the knowledge and skills necessary for working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children in a variety of settings. Emphasis is placed on the development of the whole child as a unique individual, as well as assisting the child to grow within groups such as the family, the school, and the community. This is a project-based program that blends classroom study with applied learning with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children. You're introduced to major theories of child care and development within the practical context of a warm, caring, and stimulating environment. The development of effective communications among children, parents, early childhood educators, and other professionals is an essential element of this program. Throughout this program you also acquire and develop the qualities of dependability and self-motivation, as well as a high level of skill in communication and organization.
