Geographic Sciences - Remote Sensing Technology Concentration [Nova Scotia Community College, NSCC]

Remote Sensing is the study of earth observation systems and applications. Remote Sensing is a rapidly expanding discipline with multiple applications in: forestry, geology, defence/intelligence, disaster management, conservation, oceanography, meteorology, urban analysis, and agriculture. With the increasing availability and use of digital airborne remote sensing systems such as the Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager (hyperspectral), Digital Sensor System (photography), and the Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (LiDAR) there is a growing demand for personnel skilled in operating these systems.
