The GRI provides an exciting intellectual community for scholars interested in the Atlantic Region. The GRI has sponsored post-doctoral applications, sabbaticants and visiting scholars in their funding applications. We have also hosted graduate students and independent researchers. The GRI offers some limited workshpace, including up-to-date computers, access to a variety of digital equipment (cameras, recorders, microfilm readers) and other amenities such as library access. The Gorsebrook Research Institute is Saint Mary's University's oldest and most prestigious research centre. Established in 1982, the GRI is funded in part by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, with additional support from Saint Mary's University.
