Work Placements - Putting Leaning into Practice: Faculty Guide [Nova Scotia Community College, NSCC]

Learners enrolled in a one-year certificate program will typically complete an applied learning work placement in the third semester unless the program has approved alternate learning opportunities. Two-year diploma programs will have applied learning work placement experiences throughout the program and are a graduation requirement as determined for each program of study. Although the traditional five-week capstone “Work Experience” may be appropriate for some programs, we are moving towards including an applied learning component in every semester, either internally by applying skills learned, or externally with an industry partner.
