There can be little question that ecological changes leading to extinctions of species and loss of habitat pose a threat to our health, our prosperity, and even our existence.
This unique four-year UNB degree program combines New Brunswick College of Craft & Design visual arts courses with traditional liberal arts courses at the University of New Brunswick (UNB). You can start your studies at either institution, or attend the College and UNB in alternate years. The choice is yours.
Graphic Design is a laptop program at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD), providing in-depth knowledge of design theory, professional techniques and design industry standards. All aspects of visual communication are explored, including typographic design, brand identities, and print and digital production, with an entrepreneurial focus throughout.
Photography studies with the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) begins with an introduction to photo histroy and traditional darkroom techniques, but soon students are using digital camera and learning state-of-the-art technical skills. All courses reinforce studio skills, creative exploration and professional standards.
Fashion: Fashion Design offered by the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) is an option within the 2-year Fashion Diploma Program, helping students develop technical expertise and an expressive, personal design sense. Courses in sewing, pattern development and garment constrcution prepare students for more advanced studies in corset construction, fitting and draping. An annual Fashion Show is a public showcase of senior student work.
Fine Craft: Jewellery and Metal Arts offered by the College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) provides intensive skill development in metal and silversmithing, in fully-equipped studios with indiviudal jeweller's benches. Courses introduce technical skills such as sawing and filing, soldering and riveting, stone-setting and electroforming. Mold-making and casting technologies allow for experimentation in forming multiple designs.
Fine Craft: Ceramics at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) introduces students to a full range of clay and glazes, hand-building and wheel-throwing, and various construction and firing methods including raku, gas and electric kilns. Production techniques are introduced throughout the curriculum, together with an entrepreneurial focus.
This 1-year Certificate Program is the starting point for most of our students, and prepares students for more advanced studies (Diplomas or Graduate Studies) at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD).
