Do you enjoying working with cars? In this program, you get the knowledge and skills related to the service and repair of the mechanical and electrical systems of automobiles and light trucks. You learn how to use computerized diagnostic equipment, power tools and shop equipment. You also have the opportunity to apply your skills with a work term.
This program prepares you with the technical and practical knowledge you need to work with automotive technicians on the floor and the service expertise you need to support customers at the front desk. Throughout this program, you gain the necessary skills to work as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Parts Person, or Service Consultant and, possibly in management positions which are all in high demand by Nova Scotia car dealers, truck and transport dealers and service repairs centers.
In this program you learn welding procedures, repair and align body panels, body/frame measuring and alignment procedures, how to prepare and paint surfaces, and use electronic databases to estimate costs related to vehicle damage. All repair procedures are completed in accordance to manufacturer's specifications and I-CAR standards.
