The Aboriginal Software Tester Training Course is a PQA Testing initiative, funded jointly by PQA and the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) that provides Aboriginal people with recognized qualifications for the IT industry as Software Testers. To help meet this demand and diversify the workforce, the federal government, through the Oceans Protection Plan, is providing $2.5 million in bursaries for women and Indigenous peoples to pursue marine education. If you are an LATP client, you may be eligible for a wage subsidy to help you gain employment. It is not a pre-requisite that you were enrolled in LATP sponsored training but there are some conditions around participation. All Aboriginal people in Labrador from Innu Nation, NunatuKavut (Labrador Metis Nation), and Nunatsiavut, are eligible to participate in this program.

Code of Conduct [First Nations Financial Management Board, FNFMB]

A code of conduct is an important element of good governance because it acts as a guideline for ethical decision making. It also encourages positive working relationships and acts as a reference for solving ethical issues in the workplace.

The code of conduct applies to Council, officers, employees, committee members, contractors, and agents of the First Nation and must be included in employee contracts, contracts for service, and when approving someone as an agent or to serve on the Finance and Audit Committee.
