This brochure describes what FNFA can do for your First Nation. To learn more about how the FNFA
works, how you can become a borrowing member.

The purpose of the Framework Agreement was to recognize the inherent
right of First Nations to resume control over their lands and resources for
the use and benefit of their members without Government interference, by
replacing the land provisions of the Indian Act with First Nation made laws.

The Framework Agreement provides First Nations with the option to govern
their reserve lands outside the Indian Act. The option to regain control of
their lands and resources can only be undertaken with the consent of
the community.

This program offers personalized coaching that will help determine the concrete steps you need to take to achieve your objective. By participating in Alternative jeunesse Program, you’ll also receive financial assistance in the form of a youth allowance which recognizing your active commitment in the program.

Réussir is a social assistance and support program for people who have severely limited capacity for employment and who wish to facilitate their access to secondary vocational studies or post-secondary studies. They maintain their right to receive financial assistance under the Social Solidarity Program in addition to the income they receive from the loans and bursaries program. Moreover, a support allowance could be paid to participating individuals.

The National Reconciliation Program for Duplessis Orphans Who Were Residents of Certain Institutions offers individual financial assistance of $15,000 to persons commonly known as Duplessis orphans, who were residents of certain non-psychiatric institutions.

The Québec Parental Insurance Plan provides income replacement benefits to eligible parents at the birth or adoption of their child, thus promoting work-family balance.
