Transitioning from high school to university can feel
like a big change. We smooth this transition with the
Qualico Bridge to Success Program (QBTS).
With QBTS, new Indigenous students are connected
with academic learning support, advising, peer-mentoring
and special events to enhance the first year experience.
There is no cost to participate in this program.
The marine industry is growing and thousands of job opportunities exist right now.
To help meet this demand and diversify the workforce, the federal government, through the Oceans Protection Plan, is providing $2.5 million in bursaries for women and Indigenous peoples to pursue marine education. As a woman or Indigenous person, you may qualify to have 90% of the course cost covered.
The Innovative Communities Fund (ICF) invests in strategic projects that build the economies of Atlantic Canada's communities.Working in partnership with Atlantic communities and stakeholders, ICF builds on the strengths of communities and provides the tools needed to identify opportunities available for their sustainable economic growth.
ICF focuses on investments that lead to long-term employment and economic capacity building in rural communities. Urban initiatives that stimulate the competitiveness and vitality of rural communities may be considered on a selective basis.

"Post-secondary resources in this scan have been divided into three topics: Fisheries, Business, and Arts, Social Sciences and Integrative Science. The scan documents an immense number of university and college programming, Aboriginal support services, research centres, research reports and projects, and key knowledge holders who can potentially contribute to capacity building in the First Nations fisheries.
The Commerce Society has been a large and active society on the Mount Allison campus for many years. This year we are continuing with our traditional events such as the famous "Five and Dime", kickoff BBQ's, guest speakers, "Pool with Profs", and trips to visit Commerce Alumni. As well we have new initiatives such as "Meet and Greet with Profs", a Mount Allison Career Fair, and fundraising for local charities. The Commerce Society, in particular the executive, also act as a voice for commerce students by giving feedback to the Commerce faculty on the department and the programme.
