Portfolios are as unique as the individuals who prepare them. While there are no rules about what goes into a portfolio, we do expect your portfolio to demonstrate that you have thought through your experience and what you want it to represent. We expect you will include meaningful, relevant items from all your learning to create a clear picture of 'who you are' and 'what you know you can do'.
Employers expect their employees to have the basic knowledge and skills of their trade or profession. But they are also looking for something more - skills and competencies that reflect the qualities of the person
You are expected to develop a portfolio of your work as part of your study at NSCC. A portfolio is a powerful and convincing way to demonstrate your achievements to future employers over and above the standard résumé. A portfolio is also a good way to observe the development of your skills and abilities throughout your working life.
